ABOUT

“My name is Marion A. Bockmann. I was born in Yorkton and raised in Stockholm, Saskatchewan, Canada. My Family and I later moved to Germany. I became an “Industriekauffrau” and worked as a secretary in different companies. I am married with two sons. In 1996 we moved to Dublin. For over 13 years my hobby was silk painting. I then worked in a silk painting studio for three years. For two summers in a row I worked on two separate films as a seamstress and a textile artist. That was something I really enjoyed doing. I have always loved to be creative.”

“After that I started working in Retail. Now I am an assistant shop manager and I enjoy working with people.”

“My real passion lies with oil painting! A couple of years ago I had a health scare. I knew I would be out of work for a couple of weeks. So I started to do oil paintings to take my mind off things. It was very therapeutic. The colors just came exploding out of me! I was in a different world while I was painting! It was a very healing experience.”

“It turned out there was no need to worry. But now there was no going back! Since then I have never stopped painting.”

“Painting is my meditation. When I paint I can completely switch off. New ideas start to grow like a little seed. Sometimes it takes weeks to get it right. Then when it’s ripe I know its time to start! I get excited and impatient and cannot wait to fill the canvas. I feel happy and sometimes have to get up really early in the morning because I can’t wait to get back to painting. When I am looking forward to paint it feels great. And I am full of anticipation. I have a lot to learn! And I am enjoying every minute of the journey!”
